IAStructE – IIIT Hyderabad student’s chapter of Earthquake Engineering Research Centre, conducted an online Guest Lecture on the topic of “Ultra-High-Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete – From Fundamentals to Applications in Bridge Engineering” on 23rd February 2023. Dr. Vanama Raghava Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Trichy was the keynote speaker for the event. He gave an overview of the Ultra-High-Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC), its construction methodology, proportioning of the constituents, the significance of fibre materials and its size, and the successfully executed UHPFRC projects. Further, he also highlighted the applications of UHPFRC in different countries and discussed various codal provisions. Finally, the participants had a very insightful discussion at the end of the webinar.
